Without the injured Osmany Juantorena, Halkbank Ankara failed to win a single set against Russia’s Zenit Kazan in the first match of the Playoffs 1/6 of the Champions League 2014/15. The very first rallies showed that his absence was going to dramatically affect the performance of Turkey’s champions and last year’s silver medallists. Thanks to their excellent attacks and powerful serves Zenit scored a 3:0 home win (25:19, 25:18, 25:17) and this way made a huge leap forward on their way to the Final Four tournament scheduled for March 28-29 in Berlin, but the final outcome of this double fixture will be decided only next week in Turkey’s capital.
