Champions League 2011/2012 12 years ago -2
WTF, I can't believe it!!!

I hoped that it won't happen (not before final4 or play off 6) that two italian team will fight vs each others, and of course it will >.<
But the worst thing is that the winner of this match will fight vs Trento (if they'll win)!!

So, no more than one italian club in the final4, and we have with 3 teams at play off! ?(((

At least if Trento will win we can be sure an italian team will be at final4 no matter what...
And at least they won't travel so far.

(and think that in the Women CL it happened the same!!!!)
Lordall, how can you survive with -31 °C??? I can hardly image that!!

BTW, I could watch only the very end of the match, so I didn't enjoyed it at all ?((
May be I'll watch it on laola later...

I'm sorry they didn't make it, not simply because they'll face a team arrived first, but mostly because now there are chances (2/5) that two italians team will meet in the next round... I really hope it won't!
But has Macerata any chance to be the better second? In case a first will host the final they will count as first!
I'm not so sure I want someone that doesn't consider him as an athlete to join the italian NT. Expecially not for the Olympics!!

BTW, @champion, of course Zaytsev as sub of Juantorena makes sense to Trento, but defintly not to Ivan! He HAS to be titoular ?

pearl, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him in Russia, but I really hope he'll stay in Italy...

BTW, it seems that Juantorena will stay in Trento, at least for what I read in the newspaper. (I don't remeber which one).
I think he have to hope for Kaizisky to go somewhere else. Honestly I think he would be a more natural replacement for Matey that for Osmany.

Or he has to hope that Savani will leave Macerata, but I guess it won't...
Yes, he will go only to be a starter, that's mean if one of the guys you mentioned will leave the team (I guess there are better chances about Trento) he will go there. Otherwise somewhere else, I just hope not abroad...
no they don't.
Mezzarome doesn't want to invest in it unfortunally... Zaytsev totally deserves an abitious project. And European Cups.
Worst, we lost a match that we couldn't lose after WINNING 2-0!!! Sooo frustrating, indeed :(
Dragan Travica 12 years ago +3
very nice movie! I like it, and as always I can't thank you enough for picking italian players to make movies^^ Now, my consideration about Dragan... It is strange, because in Italy I saw people that adore him, or that don't like him. I remember that before the WL I commented to a friend that I didn't like him much, and she answered that, instead, she did. Now is the opposite xD I think - to mention a difect - he lacks of precision, at least in confront to Valerio (because in confront to Boninfante Dragan is THE precision xD). And I guess that's is what who wants Valerio back complain the most. But he has many other qualities, and imo he fits well in Italian NT. And also in Macerata! He is a fighter, and has a great enthusiasm. We all now how important his the attitude for a player, expecially if he is the setter. And that make him a quite good diggers, considering he is 2.00m tall. He is usually enough lucid, I honestly like enough his distribuition. May be he overuses the opposite (or Savani) and sometime doesn't use enough the MBs, (other difect) but I noticed that he is improving a lot from this point of view. Having good MB in the team defintly helps. Yesterday more than 30% of the sets were to MB. And I like his pipe too! He is smart. He can do effective second touch, both "fast" touches and tips. He can attack. He has a very effective serve, scoring many aces and putting the other team in trouble. It's not rare that he stays long on a serve run. He is defintly helpful in block. It's a very useful thing not having a "hole" in the first line. And more than once he prevent the other team to smash a ball when we received on the other court, blocking it. The last three points can be sinthetize as "he brings points and can create trouble the the opponents". Something that it's always useful!!! And now he also has a plus, he is playing the whole season with two of our 4 OH, may be even 3 of 4, if we count Kovar :D And with a very good coach, imo ;)
Oh, that's a such wonderful movie! I love it, the first part expecially is just amazing! Compliments NightFox!
I really can't understand the meaning of putting this video, honestly...
Wonderful one!!!
He recorded only the first set (not intentionally!), that's why it's so short! Thanks Kjeldhor! BTW, this action that takes from like s28 to s41 was wonderful, probably (one of) the best of the match :)

What about the All star team?

Valerio Vermiglio 12 years ago +2
Please not Boninfante as second setter! BTW, very nice movie and he defintly earned the right to me in the "hall of movie" of volleyball movies, thanks a lot Night Fox for "taking care" or several italian players movies, I apreciate it a lot!!! :* About Travica, I honestly think he lacks of precition, but beside that I think he fits good with our NT. I won't change him, honeslt. Of course I will love to have Valerio as back up but I understand it's not something he will like to do... Still, I've seen several improvement in Travica: e.g. he is playing a lot with MB. Fortunally Giuliani is a very good coach and will teach him smth! And I like how he stays on court. And that he often bring several points (block/serve/attack..) Our great fortune is that he is playing with Sava and Parodi in the club, and hopefully they'll play also important matches, that will be so helpful for the NT! Also because I think Parodi will have more space now... And now Kovar is better than Maruotti, so..

You'll probably find it on rutraker...

BTW, I read Vermiglio will play in the All stars team ?
That's a pity, but it still better than nothing ?

I now, I'm a bit late, BTW I wanted to say:

- very good match by Macerata
- Sokolov played as OH in the third set... Is there any chance that Stoytchev will try him as OH with the NT?
- I'm very proud of the 3 italian teams (4 with Monza), each one has already qualificated to play off! I hope they won't meet soon, btw... Actualy, I hope to have all of them in the final4 ?
But my first choice is Macerata, no doubt about that ?
I read about Jago too.

zver, I agree, Piacenza is too weak for him, but it is a first, great step, so I'm absolutly glad for him! I hope I'll be soon able to play ? They're waiting for FIVB transfert, as far as I understood...

Also Polish male NT was named Polish teamof the year, right?
?

But I have to admit that sometimes I really hate Anastasi, he didn't won nothing with Italy all the time he coached the NT, and in half an year he won 3 medals on 3 competitions with his brand new team!!! ?
Macerata is playing so well lately, today they didn't serve at their best but still they made a great impression to me, like vs Fenerbache. They have an impression % of counter-attack ended well, like 62%, they played more than 30% of the attacks with the MB (great game from Podrascanin) thanks to the reception and to Travica distribuition, they almost always ended the long rallies... I loved them because who is in the team, now I love them also because how they play... I hope they can keep this level in the most important macthes (e.g. in ItalianCup final4, even if there is a part of mine that hope they won't be there because that's mean Rome will... but I don't think we deserve the Final4, honestly)

And a special mention for Parodi: best player of the last two matches... Now he is playing not simply "well" but "great", actually making the difference. if during the same rally he didn't put the ball down the first chance, he did it the second one. He is also coming back with his serve.

@handan, I agree with pearl, I'm a superfan of Zaytsev but I think he can do more honestly...He is playing well but not too much constantly. Unfortunally Boninfante's sets don't help him=.=
I guess Berruto will have an hard time when he will have to decide who'll be in the starting six...
And even if I'm not a fan of Kovar, I have to admit he is playng defintly better than Maruotti (that ended in bench the last two matches, btw, and that often is around 35% in attack). I think he should be the 4th OH of italian NT... unfortunally he doesn't seem to me to be such attached to the "blue shirt", but... He improved in reception (I'll say he is better than Sava...), he has a very good serve, good block, good attack (may be not the smartes type of attack, but effective)...

Sabbi has a great game and a bad one, a good one and an horrible one... ?
It's a pity when he is not playing so well in attack, because in that case he needs to be changed with Bencz, but he has a better serve and a better block...

Exiga <3
Passier =.=

How distract I am, I missed it! Very nice work! I'll wait for others highlights of the regoular season^^
