Whatever happens, Andrea Anastasi will terminate his work with Poland. The last three tournaments turned out to be a failure (starting with Olympics 2012) and the contract with Italian coach will not be fulfill in 100%. French star, Stephane Antiga was announced a candidate for a new head coach of the national team of Poland. On Thursday, the authorities of Polish Federation are supposed to conduct a vote in order to confirm this candidature. The information is quite shocking, as Antiga is still working for Skra Bełchatów as a player and nothing indicated such a drastic change. Moreover, his contract with Polish club was signed for two years. Andrea Anastasi succeeded Daniel Castellani in February 2011. He steered them to the bronze medal in the 2011 FIVB World League and silver at the World Cup, earning them a ticket to the Olympics, where they finished on the 5th place. Anastasi won FIVB World Championship and World League titles as a player before becoming a coach in 1994. He coached Italy from 1999 to 2002 and won the FIVB World League in 1999. In 2006, Anastasi became the coach of Spain, leading them to a first European Championship in 2007 before returning to Italy from 2007 to 2010.
