The newcomers Sesc/Rio and Corinthians/Guarulho. Full of Brazil NT players and ex-players, as legendary libero Serginho and blocker Riad (from Corinthians' side), and Maurício Souza, Maurício Borges and Tiago Brendle (Sesc). Both teams have just reached the podium this season: Sesc got the gold medals at Carioca Championship and Superliga B. Corinthians grabbed the gold at Taça Ouro (Brazilian Superliga Qualification Tournament) and the silver at Paulista Championship. The teams are two of the best bets to the Superliga 2017/18 play-offs.
