Russia won against Bulgaria on Sunday evening as they defeated the visitors in three sets (25:20, 25:21, 25:23) and claimed their second win in the 2014 FIVB Volleyball World League. Russia concluded the weekend in third place to the satisfaction of its 5,500 home fans at the DS Energetik. Russian superstar Dmitriy Muserkiy and Bulgarian spiker Tsvetan Sokolov each scored 15 points for their squads. Russia coach Andrey Voronkov said: “It was psychologically difficult to start the match today, as far as we expected a tough game from Bulgaria. They were really stronger, but we made some substitutions during the match to strengthen our block and attack and I’m happy with the result we achieved today.” In the fifth week, Bulgaria will be playing away from home against the USA, while Russia will stay in Surgut for a rematch with Serbia.
