The ultimate dream of Resovia Rzeszów came true on Wednesday night at "Podpromie" sports hall where the home heroes secured their ticket to the Final Four of the Champions League 2014/15 once they got up by two sets to one in their re-match with 2013 gold medal winners, Russia’s Lokomotiv Novosibirsk, in the second round of the Playoffs 1/6. On March 28 Resovia will go for an all Polish derby as they will cross the ways of arch-rivals Skra Bełchatów in one of the semis taking place at the Max-Schmeling-Halle in Berlin. The match with Lokomotiv ended in a 2:3 loss for Resovia (20:25, 25:19, 25:22, 19:25, 15:17) but this did not prevent the local heroes from having their deserved party on a memorable Wednesday night. "We are really happy right now because our dream has finally come true", said Resovia’s coach Andrzej Kowal. "It is something really big that two Polish teams will now meet in the semis. Now we will switch back our focus to the national league but we will soon start preparing for the Final Four".
