I really think you shouldn't cry, guys. Skra got into the final four without any competition (on the women's side, however, Azeri teams were not awarded that luxury). Hawk-eye is used only for the lines (like in tennis). That's why Mikhailov never got his challenge, for example. And anything as subtle as this episode is impossible to catch by human eye, no matter how good of a ref you are.

during the whole match referees made lots of mistakes about touches, specially against zenit( 2 set) in each moment zenit players were asking for challenge but it never happened most probably the challenge rule is not covering situations about touches because it cant be always clear 100% so it couldnt be challenge at last point for touch anyway was great match

i know that it's pointless to disscuss about this action over and over again but i just can't resist to put here report from that moment made by Andrzej Lemek (our leader in polish referees who supervised challenge system on FF)

"- After the meeting I ran to the locker room and asked the judges, why they didn't use replays. That was our deal, such a procedure we predicted - says the head of Polish Andrzej Lemek judges who oversaw the system in Lodz - Chief arbiter Jovanovic said he was sure that there was no block in the last action. Once I convinced him that he was mistaken, in the locker room deathly silence reigned - adds Lemek.

Lemek saw on the monitors recording the last action. - It was perfectly obvious that the attack of Michael Winiarski ball caught in a hand of Yuri Bierieżki. If only the judge Jovanović wanted to check himself, would not be a problem. He did not do this, though the second referee also suggested to him that it could be a block. Dajcie już sobie spokój. To się już stało, czasu nie cofniecie. Zenit Kazań według mnie zasłużył na tą wygraną. Nie twierdzę, że Skra nie. Ale Skra miała o drobinę lżej, bo byli gospodarzami, a Kazań walczył jak i reszta. Jak nie w tym sezonie, to w następnym, na pewno się uda.

Why complain on this point? Be realistic and face the facts.. The ref had to maintain one line, first they denied two or three similar calls from zenit early in second set which went all the way to skra as we all remember. In my opinion that was a miracle of its own, but for those who play volleyball know how it feels (''getting screwed by the ref''). zenit would probable won this match with bigger difference if they were given the deciding points at the beginning of the second set and keep up the pace and momentum of the first. Anyways.. In the end it was an epic match witch could go eighter way.!' And the polish spectators gave this match so much more power and life that the final can be hosted in Poland every year from now on! :D

@NightFox Yeah... we can only blame the referee for the mistake in crucial moment. It wasn't the main reason that we lose the match, but it hurts.

@witam: Skra mogła już ten mecz wygrać 3:1, potem mogła wygrać 3:2, ale nie potrafiła wykorzystać szansy danej jej przez los. Niewykorzystane szanse po prostu się mszczą, wg. mnie Valerio grał o klase wyżej w tia breaku niż Falaska (Valerio rzucił z 7-8 krótkich, przy 0 falaski - to dało moim zdaniem najwazniejszą akcję meczu kiedy przy zablokowanym pipe Kurka nagle z piłki meczowej dla Skry zrobła się piłka meczowa dla zenitu i amen )

If there is a guilty one - that's the referee. What do you think would happen if Skra were at Zenit's place at this situation - they would do the same of course. So don't blame Berezko or Zenit for wanting the cup. Every team in the world will do the same at their place.

@adi_tiger co Ty gosciu piszesz, ze jesli byliby lepszym zespolem to by wygrali wczesniej. To jest siatkowka i kazdy jeden zdobyty punkt moglby odwrocic szale na druga strone (mowa np. o tym ostatnim punkcie).

i can't understand why there wasn't the ability to challenge the block like it was in the polish cup final few years ago. i know that it's not the same system (polsat cameras are connected with it) but on this kind of tournament, they could definitely come up with something like that.

Come on guys , Polish players should realize the 4-th set , and having the lead 1-5 in the the 5-th set , they should just keep the score , and of course Winiarski could attak the lst ball more persuasively , then no questions , how could the reffery notice that touch , which you can hardly see on slow-mo cam?!!!

Thanks for ALL fans for these warm words about Zenit. Russians appreciate your attitude. The game was very interesting. BOTH teams deserved to win. I admire Polish players, who fighted like lions before crowd of so great fans. I was really thinking that the last spike was in out clearly. I feel sorry for the referee's mistake. But Zenit played honestly and bravely, so they won without cheating. Hope that next time the LUCK will be on Skra's side. I love this club very much. If there was final Skra - Trento, I would support Skra. Thanks again for your dedication for our loveble game and fair words. Polish supporters are unique: loyal, faithful and not agressive (unlike Turk and Greek). Good luck for Skra on next tournaments!!!

it's hard to say,would you admit that you have touched the ball in the final at the tie break? :) probably no,because everybody wants to win,especially at home in front of home crowd :) Zenit won not only THIS point,but game at all,they fought all 5 sets,besides that yesterday luck was on Zenit's side. i'm pleased,that Zenit won this tournament,but also we can see the bright future to Skra,i think they will have some good seasons in future :) please don't take this close to your hearts,it's only my opinion :)

Widocznie muszę być poczynione w tym kierunku odpowiednie siły i środki, żeby drugi raz w takim finale nie popełniono podobnego błędu ;/

System weryfikacji cały czas jest modernizowany , żeby poprawić jakość widowiska. Z czasem będzie doprowadzony do perfekcji. np. podczas LŚ w Gdańsku ujęcia ultra slow-motion to był czysty obłęd, po prostu genialne.

Może i w LM, ale nie weryfikuje się dotknięcia bloku... Średni ten system, skoro nie można weryfikować wszystkiego. Przy takiej technice większość sytuacji da się ewidentnie zweryfikować. Jeśli nie to można dać decyzję: bez punktu. Niestety to się szybko nie zmieni- pewnie dalej będziemy skazani na zawodny wzrok sędziów.

na odprawie technicznej w piątek, ale to gdzieś w czytałem, dlatego napisałem "podobno"

Na przedmeczowej odprawie w PLS czy w FF LM, bo wydaje mi się, że zasady nie są takie same w tych dwóch przypadkach, ale mogę się mylić.

takie sytuacje wypaczają widowisko,tym bardziej, że podobno na przedmeczowej odprawie sędziowie ustalili, że będą weryfikować każdą ostatnią piłkę seta, blok był na 100%, no cóż, trudno, za rok Skra wygra ;D jedno serce, jedno bicie, skra bełchatów ponad życie ;D

sad evening for every polish fan. it was so close, I almost cried when I saw SKRA's players after last action. about Bierieżko, I really don't like behaviour what he showed. I understand that he can't admitt touch the ball, but he could don't wave his arms and screams that there was nothing.

Tak był blok tylko co z tego sędziowie sie pomylili i tak co najmniej o 1 raz wiecej na KORZYSC Skry wiec nie wiem o co ten płacz komentatorów i ludzi na trybunach.

Maybe they will upgrade challenge system after that... I dream about it. But to be honest - skra has a lot of chances before this moment - in 4th set and they was winning 5-1 in tie break!

0:29 Look at Bierezhko little finger... All other mistakes was for Skra, but unfortunately that deciding was for Zenit. I am dissapointed of the replays system.

Ah, I saw those balls go both ways this game. Pity it happens on the last ball though. Never the less, I am glad Zenit Kazan wins. They deserve to win this big price. I really really really dislike the system that the organizing team is in the final four, that is why I was fairly glad to see Zenit Kazan win.
