I watch the replay over ten times on the point 17-17 and I don't really agree: your interpretation: "Juantorena was allowed to play before Mikhailov touched the ball " For me, both players touched the ball at the same time.(or i can't say who touch it first) If that's the case, is it still a fault for you ?

@Krisprolls: even in this case is still a fault, if opponent is allowed to touch the ball is considered an attack and so it's fault, the only way to don't have fault is if Mikhailov touches the ball BEFORE Osmani… and look how fast was Juanto, he clearly didn't tryed to get a block, he know the rules and he went for it

@Kjeldhor: Ok for the first point. But on the second aspect, I dont agree. The position of the hand oriented to the center of the court clearly intend that Osmani is on a blocking position. He is fast to front the ball as you are supposed to be as a blocker as well. He would have cut to the ball and not jump toward the oustide of the court if he was wanting to play the ball first.

@Krisprolls: I really don't understand what you are trying to say. Could you please explain these sentences a little more?

13.1.3 An attack hit is completed at the moment the ball completely crosses the vertical plane of the net or is touched by an opponent (block).
13.2.2 A back-row player may complete an attack hit at any height from behind the front zone:
13.2.2.1 at his/her take-off, the player's foot (feet) must neither have touched nor crossed over the attack line; - Butko was clearly inside the three meter line
13.2.2.2 after his/her hit, the player may land within the front zone. - irrelevant for this situation,
13.2.3 A back-row player may also complete an attack hit from the front zone, if at the moment of the contact a part of the ball is lower than the top of the net. - the whole ball was clearly above the net when Butko set it
13.2.4 No player is permitted to complete an attack hit on the OPPONENT’S service, when the ball is in the front zone and entirely higher than the top of the net. - irrelevant for this situation,

At 17:17 absolutely correct decision by 1st referee!!! Butko was a back row player. He set the ball one handed to Mikhailov, but the set was not accurate and Juantorena was allowed to play before Mikhailov touched the ball (ball above the net - both sides are alolowed to play). As soon as Juantorena has touched the ball, Butko's set was an illegal attack of a back row player inside the three meter line. Check the rules if you don't believe me. And that's exactly what Juantorena was complaing about to the 1st referee. Nothing to complain regarding this decision from Zenit coach, nor players.

Zenit got stolen. What happened at 17-17 in the fifth ? Why did the referee change his decision even though there is absolutely no fault from Butko ?

@PierreF: Butko was back court and set the ball over the tape level. It is a mistake.
