One of the best volleyball players in the history of the sport. Ivan played in the national team of Yugoslavia national team for the first time on October 4, 1998 in a game against Turkey. In the final match against Russia Ivan Miljković scored the last point and after that fell on his knees. After this success he changed his club and started playing for Italian Lube Banca Macerata. In 2001 the Yugoslav team won the European Volleyball Championship in Ostrava. With his club, Lube Banca Macerata, he also won the Champions League (2001), twice the Italian Cup (2001, 2003) and three times the CEV Cup (2001, 2005, 2006). On July 18, 2007, he signed a contract with the M. Roma Volley. The following year, on July 5, 2008, Olympiacos, announced that he will be continuing his career in Greece. In 2009 he won the Greek Championship and the Greek Cup and in 2010 the championship. On June 30, 2010, he signed a two-year contract with Fenerbahçe Istanbul. In March 2012, has officially retired from the Serbian National Team after 14 years and 288 played matches. "This is a definite end. Vatreni, i think that when you spend so many years (let's say an important part of your life) in a place that gives you a lot in terms of professional and personal satisfaction and joy, you feel yourself also a part of it. But if you never experienced that you'll never fully understand what it means. I can only say that many foreigner players who came to play in Italy, after withdrawing from v-b decided to stay (Ljubo Travica, Lech Lasko, Joel Despaigne, Hugo Conte and many many others): there must be a reason.

This is what i call a MAN: an excellent player but also a person who has many interests besides volleyball, who wants to know more about things, who constantly wants to learn 'cause the more you know the more you improve. What a pleasure must be to have a chat with him. Also when he spoke about Turkish league and then made a comparison with the Italian one: some of the things he says are interesting a lot!! I agree 100% with him in this interview (btw congrats to the journalist who did it...excellent job). I was touched by his words: especially when he says that he wishes to go back to Italy 'cause that is the place where he and his family are going to live. Ivan you're more than welcome...and you know that!!
