Official opening ceremony on Saturday 4.30 pm

When the world’s best volleyball players will fight for the European crown at the CEV Champions League Final Four at Max-Schmeling-Halle Berlin from March 28-29, the BR Volleys are not solely willing to catch attention on sporting terms. The hosts plan to get Volleyball Europe in tune for the highlight weekend with an official opening ceremony at 4.30pm before the first semi-final is played.

There is no other club in Germany’s Bundesliga that is staging and celebrating home matches as BR Volleys do. The club from the German capital is the undisputed number one nationally, when it comes to combine sports and entertainment for a sparkling home match experience. Also internationally the reigning German national champion wants to live up to their reputation. When entire Volleyball Europe is looking at Berlin the up-coming weekend, the event’s guests can look forward to a vivid mix of show and entertainment offside the court. All spectators are thus advised to come early to get their seats in order not to miss the start of the opening ceremony at 4.30 pm.

But not only is the start on Saturday afternoon packing a punch. In between the semi-finals and classification matches as well as during the games entertainment and show for the entire family are guaranteed. The mascot CHARLY as well as the Berlin Dance Team will divert the crowd. So do the “Tonnenboyz” – a group of acrobats that will present their spectacular mixture of show and volleyball.

Further, outside the arena fun and action are the mission. The world-unique “Urban Volley Court”, a mobile court to play on that has already attracted thousands of Berliners will ask spectators and passer-bys to have a try themselves in setting and digging. All others will find other spots around the court in front of the arena to amuse themselves.
