Iran defeated Cuba in five sets in Week 5 of the FIVB World League 2013 in Havana. Cuba started the game strongly and won the first two sets. But never giving up, the Asian champions Iran made a strong comeback and won the next 3 sets. Cuban Rolando Cepeda was the top scorer with 24 points. Amir Ghafour scored17 points for the winning team. On the press conference Argentinean Julio Velasco, coach of Iran, was very pleased with his players’ dramatic comeback: "It was a tough game, as we expected. We could barely defend ourselves from Cuba’s attack in the first half, but we recovered step by step. I think this match was a huge experience for both teams. I told my players they will face a legendary team so they had to enjoy the moment. They were nervous at first, but they got loose and won a match that will inspire them a lot. This victory was an injection of confidence".

We should invite Velasco, but our federation will never agree to do the necessary reforms and he will ask for them just like Radostin Stoychev did
