Wilfredo is one of the best Cuban players. He started playing for the national team when he was 14, and at 17 he was the team captain. Leon refused to play for Cuba's national team after not being allowed to play abroad. The 4-years suspension would be unprecedented, but the Cuban Volleyball Federation has the power to define the penalty with the approval of government. Typically, players who refuse to play for the national team get a two year suspension and after that resume their careers in different centers in Europe.

A brazilian commentator says Leon is a phenomenon considering all sports, not just volleyball. The video is great ( as usual), music is perfect. I could never imagine that Lionel Richie would fit in a volleyball movie...

he could be Grbić's son ;) I don't like him, he often crosses the middle line risking with health of opponents and never apologises.

Oh, I forgot the compliment for the movie: I really like it! Just one thing: the music fits well, but I think it's a little bit too "sweet" ^^

Damn, that a wonderul spiker!! His pipe is amazing! And I remember him playing as opposite in the last part of WCH final, he was unstoppable also there! And he have also a nice float-serve (not only a nice jump-serve). May be the youngest capitain of a NT ever?
