@Kuzya1 Nothing sure about it yet, there are just rumours started on the basis of the discussions you've just mentioned. So no reliable source to either confirm it or deny it.
Verbov admitted in after match interview, that their side started the brawl. i don't think Alekno will ever take Spiridonov back on a team. as for Grankin, russian vb forums are buzzing that Skra is after him... Any confirmations of this? (or denials?)
Pesazi, he's a valuable player, but very immature. Spiridonov once gave an interview saying only Giba plays better than him – so humble. Nobody can deny his talent, but that behaviour…
@HCLT: Sure he does, as he did it several times before. And of course he is some kind of maniac, but he is still young and can change his manners, probably the hard way. As long as he doesn't lose his mind, he is a very good player with even more talent left, and very entertaining to watch. I really hope he finds his way back in the NT some day.
Wiseguy, it’s not a shame, we all know Spiridonov is crazy, Russian vball is much bigger than that. Unfortunately, scenes like that are getting common in vball all over the world. When William Morgan created this sport he had in mind an activity where any kind of confrontation should be avoided. Times have changed! I’ve seen some awful brawls, like Sanchez (Cuba) slapping Shatunov (Russia) in the face, or some Dutch guys trying to punch Ron Zwerver (their mate) during an Olympic final. The Cuban girls once ended in a police station, and Karen Kemner (USA) lost her temper and grabbed a Cuban by the shirt after the opponent showed her middle finger – Kemner was stopped by both teams, otherwise she’d had punched the Cuban. Athletes are forgetting their manners…
@eRKa i remember that - Semen blocked Giba, starred in his eyes, Giba took the challenge and started playing like a lion after that! Unfortunately i dont have any video of this
I remember some match beetwen Brazil and Russia when Poltavsky and Giba had really long eye-contact after Siemion's block. does anyone remember that and has video? it was like scene from the horror movie, and I think that u are right Zyta ;)
If you wanna see difference between enfant terrible and a kid, compare Poltavsky and Spiridonov. One day the kid will get lesson of humility when he will try to provoke someone like Semen.
Spiridonov is the kind of player you love to play with, but hate to play against. I like him. Volleyball needs some characters like him.
Could anybody who speaks Russian tell us what exactly happened?
Nice one. Hope to see more situations like that. That's the man's way to end a "fight". If they were fighting after that, they would forget all bad things and they would be pleased !
im a troll but spiridonov is the best troll king ever XD and the red card was for grankine ???? or spiridonov get to ??? hahaha this guy never will be international player for russia again thats for sure .
Watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeFIOz0V4OE. Ramirez vs. Picci is an old rivalry.
Pesazi, he goes over the top.
Zyta, nice comparison. ;-)
