Victor Poletaev in season 2013/14

The future of Russian volleyball in season 2013/14. Young player of Russian national team, who got MVP of European Youth Championships 2013. He scored 126 points in that tournament, including 14 blocks and 13 aces (7 aces in final match). Victor said: "I was very surprised especially since I am much younger than most of the players who starred there. The MVP is most commonly a member of the team that wins gold; so this individual award was a very nice addition to our result as a team". He reaches 360cm using his vertical jump. Block is 340cm. Poletaev competed in high jump in athletics and that’s why he has developed that skill so much. He is a player of Zenit Kazan. There in the capital city of Tatarstan the young Viktor has the role model to look at. He said: "Maxim Mikhaylov is the player that I admire the most, for me he embodies the ideal Volleyball player. Our head coach Vladimir Alekno has decided to include me in the first team and it was nice to train with Maxim and other famous players. They are all extremely supportive and help me with their advices".
