He is one of the younger players in the team roster, and certainly one of the most talented receivers on the planet. He is Nikola Kovačević’s younger brother, who spent three seasons playing for “ACH Volley Ljubljana” before he was trensferred to Modena. He is still playing in Italy, but last season he moved to Verona. He was one of the key players in the Junior and Youth National Teams of Serbia. Playing with the Youth Boys he managed to win silver at the European Championship in 2009 and gold in 2011, but his biggest achievements are linked to two gold medals at the World Championships in 2009 and in 2011. With the junior team he won bronze at the 2011 World Championship, and with the senior men of Serbia he became the European Champion in 2011. He also won silver medal at the U-23 World Championship back in 2013. He is regular in the senior men’s squad the last couple of years, and in 2015 he won silver at the World League Final Tournament in Rio de Janeiro.
