Eder won the U17 World Championship in 2001 and the U20 Pan American Championship in the following year. In 2003, he was on the Brazilian team which was third at the U20 World Championship. Four years later, he participated in the World League – when Brazil won it seventh title – and placed second in the Americas Cup, the same position achieved by the team the year after. In 2009, Eder helped Brazil win the gold medal in the three competitions disputed: World League, Champions Cup and South American Championship. He returned to the national team in 2011, becoming Pan American Games champion and earning second place in the World League. In 2013, Eder placed second in the World League and lifted the South America Championship trophy, besides also winning the FIVB World Grand Champions Cup. The middle blocker was runner up in the 2014 edition of the FIVB World League and also achieved the silver medal in the FIVB World Championship in Poland. In 2015, Éder was in the national team that played the World League and was eliminated before the semifinal.
