Group B leaders, American players won against Russia 3:2 in their World League 2014 match on Friday in front of 7000 spectators in SK Yantarny. Matthew Anderson scored 36 points (!!!), while Dmitriy Muserskiy and Nikolay Pavlov led the home side with 19 points. The win means USA stay on the top of group B with 21 points, while Russia improved their record to 15 points. USA captain Sean Rooney: "It is always dangerous to give Russia any opportunity. We did and we lost the third and fourth sets. Nevertheless we managed to keep the pace and we achieved an excellent result". Russia captain Sergey Makarov: "It’s a shame we lost today. In spite the fact that the US had a solid advantage, we had a chance to win the match, but we missed it".
