Poland - Iran (short cut)

In an incredible battle in front of a packed "Atlas Arena", host team Poland survived a serious scare from Iran and earned a hard-fought win 3:2 (25:17, 25:16, 24:26, 19:25, 16:14). The result automatically qualified France for the third round. The receiver of Polish national team Michał Winiarski got injured during the third set. Stephane Antiga said: "He had problems with his back. We will test him but we don't know how serious this is. That situation might have affected the team as he's our leader and a loss like that in such moments brings a lot of emotions". The top scorer of the game was Mariusz Wlazły with 28 points, while Seyed Mousavi had 15 points.
