When I mentioned Schöps not playing as powerful as Stanley it didn't meant he wasn't able to. What I meant is that he just doesn't depend on it because he is often able to find better ways to score. This variability makes him so hard to control for every opponent and is his advantage over other top players like Stanley, Omrcen, Nikolov and Wlazly (who definitly is a smart player) etc. Today, most opposites depend on their physical strength and can be token out of a game by a strong opponent ( just think about Marshall- jumps like crazy and thats all). This CL season and in the finals of the russian league, nobody managed to stop Schöps (at least from what I saw and read, what I did a lot).

Well he definitely is my favorite opposite in the world. He's so calm and relaxed. I agree with everything WOJT said, he's a very well rounded player. It must be very frustrating to play against him, because he has the ability to score with such ease.

And yeah he does have a lot of power, I wouldn't say as much as Stanley though. I think Stanley needs Ball to be effective, if you have Schops in your team, you'll pretty much always have a decent chance at winning, no matter who the setter is.

About movie: It's really good, showing various actions technical as well as powerful spikes. The music also isn't bad. About player: He is great spiker who is destinated to be the best scorer of the team and he often is. He is very clever player, with great technical skills, huge spike range and great strength. Bronko is right....but he is definitely as powerful as Stanley...He rarely shows it because he often plays with less power for with more overview. I've seen both live. I think Jochen Schöps is the most effective opposite player in the world.

He may not be as spectacular as Wlazly or as powerful as Stanley, but when it comes to effectivness he is definitely one of the worlds best opposites besides Visotto and Miljkovic. And beeing effective, what means making the point is everything an opposite has to do. Also, only a few players like Giba or Winiarski play as smart and have the same feeling for the court that schöps has.
