It was the very first clash between Finland and Slovenia in the history of the World League after Slovenia gained promotion to Group 2 last year. Tine Urnaut's 18 points led Slovenia to victory against Finland in four sets 3:1 (25:22, 25:15, 22:25, 25:23) in the opening match of the of the World League 2017.
