World Championships 2010 - 3 day

Joel, you´re right, some actions of Cuban players were really beautiful, but I was so nervous yesterday that I just couldn´t pay much attention to them... Imagine how angry I am with Vissoto and I must say that I miss André Nascimento, we could trust him in all situations.
We do need to play better, I totally agree with you

I think it must have been in the 2nd, 4th, or 1st part of the 5th set... Cuba was to the right of the up referee. Hierrezuelo was in position to set with a good pass, but no blockers were with him as he was between positions 3 and 4, so he attacked it very hard.

Rachel, the first set was very intense, and I was impressed with the Cuban play. Brazil did some good things as well, but overall I don't think they played great, and will definitely need to be playing better. I wish Bernardo would try Theo on the right side, i've never liked Visotto and he didn't play well today.

The last points were awesome too. Both teams were making awesome plays and serving very hard. I laughed when Simon aced his first serve of the match though, I called it as soon as he tossed the ball, teams should know by now that he gets an ace like that at least once a match, and the receivers usually don't even move before hits the ground, he's very good at dropping it short like that. Hierrezuelo had an awesome 2nd ball attack too :). I hope these plays will be put up in a video here soon.

I would like to say that the match Cuba - Brazil was really amazing... Both teams played very well, any of them could have won, but Brazil made some stupid mistakes on the tie-break and in such a tight match, something like that is fatal. Vissoto was the worst player on court, the lack of confidence that he´s showing is unbelievable, Murilo is our best player and Bruno is in a great moment again.
A group with Brazil, Bulgaria and Poland is a nightmare to me, I´m worried about Brazil, the fact that we have only one setter is limiting our opitions, this is killing us...

No coz zwyciezca naszej grupy teoretycznie trafi do kolejnej grupy smierci - z Rosja i Serbia. Zespol z drugiego miejsca teoretycznie trafi na USA i Niemcy, no chyba, ze Niemcy beda mieli natchnienie i wykoncza makaroniarzy, a wtedy Wlosi papa - zycze im tego za ten cholerny system.
Jednak teraz dopiero moga sie zaczac jeszcze wieksze kalkulacje druzyn, bo nie wierze, ze Serbia nie przepuscila tego meczu. Jeszcze beda niespodzianki i moje opcje moga sie nie sprawdzic.
A ja sie boje obstawiac, bo mnie przeczucie gubi, czulam, ze Niemcy odpadna a Bulgaria wygra z Francja i Czechami. Na mundialu w czerwcu mialam skutecznosc 100%, mimo ze koledzy kpili, ze co dziewczyna moze wiedziec o sporcie ;)
Aczkolwiek sadze, ze Bulgaria sie nie ogarnie w trzy dni.

jak obstawiacie mecze? myślę, że przegramy po ciężkiej walce z Brazylią, ogramy Bułgarów i będziemy się bardzo stresować na ich meczu w sobote.

Hey so if a team decides during the last match that its better to lose, are they allowed to just stand on the court and let the other team serve 25 points in a row? Is there some sort of rule that says you have to at least make it look like your trying to win?

I mean they could just start with all their subs, but what if their subs are playing an awesome game? Take out the setter and then set from whoever happens to be in 3?

For my part a little comment. This championship is a bit of a parody. Serbia is confirmed. I hope that their calculations yield the opposite effect. Go Go Poland:) Group Poland, Brazil, Bulgaria will be very interesting

no to czeka nas grupa śmierci...teraz wszystko wyjdzie w praniu...podium z Japonii w jednej grupie drugiej rundy

Ja to stwierdziłem rano, że nie można oceniać wszystkich pochopnie...po tym meczu też bym od razu super-optymizmem nie sypał, ale gra była taka jaką chciałbym oglądać...grupy jak grupy, system jest do d..., ale gdyby Bułgarzy nie przegrali z Czechami to nie gralibyśmy z nimi...nikt nie kazał im zajmować 3 miejsca w grupie. Po swoich dotychczasowych meczach to niech oni się boją!...Najlepiej zostać mistrzem pokonując wszystkich, a nie liczyć na drabinki i inne kombinacje...na Me wygraliśmy wszystko i to się nazywa mistrzostwo...Więc "A POR ELLOS!!!"

Winiar dzisiaj klasa sama w sobie, trzymał przyjęcie,prawie wszystko kończył. MVP Michał Winiarski. Bartman fantastyczna zmiana za Kurka. Kto wie może jakby grał w podstawowym składzie byłby jeszcze skuteczniejszy od Kurka! Wlazły strasznie słabo, oby się przebudził , na szczęście Gruszka trzyma wysoki poziom. Więc moi drodzy : jestem optymistycznie nastawiony do przyszłych meczów skoro wygrywamy z Serbią która grała w podstawowym składzie praktycznie bez atakującego (jak grał Wlazły)

But Bulgaria with that disposition is not dangerous, and if we win with them, even if we lose with Brazil/Cuba we will pass to quite easy group in third round.

Yep, I feel like all the groups are set for Italy, whatever they lose or win, they will have "easier" group in next round. However there are no easier and harder groups, only teams which seems stronger or weaker at first. There was many surprises already, wasn't there?

These championships is the system sucks. In the match Poland - Serbia better to lose a match. The second team from the group goes to Mexico and Brazil or Cuba. However, first team goes on Bulgaria and Brazil or Cuba. Does this make sense?

Games give us more and more surprises everyday. Czech Republic was a big surprise for me. Cameroon won with Australia recently, so that Cameroon pass to the next round, I have no clue what skills they represent but I've never heard of volleyball there.

Hey I can't find the info on FIVB. When 2 teams are tied for points, what's the tie-breaking procedure?

Edit: I found it, tie's are determined by points ratio.
