Ivan Zaytsev (born 2 October 1988) is an Italian volleyball player with Russian origins, who plays for Lube Banca Macerata and the national team.



His career started in 2001 when he signed contract with RPA Perugia. He has played for teams such as: M. Roma Volley (2006-2007) , Andreoli Latina (2007-2008), M. Roma Volley (2008-2012) and Lube Banca Macerata (2012-?). He is son of Vyacheslav Zaytsev, player of "gold Soviet team" (he was Olympic, European and World Champion with USSR).
Ivan's mother is Russian too: Irina Pozdnyakova, a former competitive swimmer. Ivan was born on 2 October 1988 in Spoleto in Italy, where his father played for several years. At first Ivan was setter, just like his father was. "My father practically never was satisfied with my playing. He was pointing out my mistakes many times, but after match in Belgorod he congratulated me the successful debut." Ivan received Italian citizenship in May 12, 2008. He debuted with the Italian national team in 2008.
Now he plays as spiker! He scored 283 points in the World League 2013!
