Slovenia showing great form weeks before the ECH!!

The Slovenian national team is showing some great performances before the start of the ECH. Last week they won the Ramazan Tournament in Qatar, beating Qatar(3:1), Iran(3:1), and finnaly Egipt(3:1) - Who beat Serbia 3:0 just a few weeks ago.

This week Slovenia is organizing the Mikasa Open cup 2011, which hosts 3 more teams, beside Slovenia:
-Slovakia, the winner of this years EL
-Iran
-Finland, 4th from the last edition of the ECH.

In the first match Slovenia beat Slovakia in a thriller match 3:2, and yesterday they won Finland 3:1, and today at 19:00 they will play the last match, against Iran, where we are all hoping for another win!

The Slovenian NT will play its last preparation matches in an international tournament in France, where they will meet two contenders for a medal at this years ECH: France and Bulgaria!

So far so good for our guys! :)

We will see how our teams are prepared on the European Championship,because in this frendly matches coaches rotates the squad every game and the players can't find their rhythm of play sometimes. :)

Yes, I was going to point out exactly that Slovenian middle-blockers play really well and that is (in my opinion) due to the good reception. These fast balls from the middle are extremely difficult to block.

Too bad we couldn't watch these friendly matches and we lost that one with Slovenia. They prove to be a challenge, that's obvious. The fourth set was insane! We must've shown real force of character. Anyway, Slovenian reception is better than ours in any case, maybe that's why we didn't win.

Bulgaria rotated the squad, Vladimir Nikolov played most of the time and Kaziyski played 60% of the time. Todorov played ony in the fourth set to turn it for us. Slovenian MB played great

Slovenia is the winner of the tournament in Tourcoing, they won all three matches!
Slovenia - France 3:2
Slovenia - Turkey 3:0
Slovenia - Bulgaria 3:2

Does anyone know if Bulgaria played with their 1st squad?

Well I think of it this way, beter lose this match, than an important one at the ECH... :P

Not good, I'll need a surgery, but since we have high ambitions for this season, and If I would go on operation now, I would miss 3 months of trainings, I decided that I will try to play this season, and go on the operation when it finnishes. If the pain will be too bad, I will go on the operation in the middle of the season. Either way, the operation will have to be done, Hopefully I'll be able to postpone it till May/April, if not, in the middle of the season.

I'm sorry for you that Slovenia didn't beat Iran, jenrej... BTW Velasco is Velasco, as Italian I wish him to reach beutiful success with Iran. (possible not vs Italy :P)
