After six weeks of great actions in the prelims, the real climax of the 2011 CEV Volleyball European League is coming up this weekend with the final rounds taking place in Kosice (Slovakia).

well, for sure Adi Gontariu can't manage to do that just by himself, but he's not the only good player of our NT. I believe they aren't determined enough to win and that's the problem of the Romanian volleyball federation. that's such a pitty

AleNickel I think, that your NT dont win every match only with Gontariu. One man never save all team. In F4 Slovakia won, because only Gontariu was playing well first 2 sets.

pffff, not that I have something against the winner, congratulations for all their work, but it's so frustrating to see the NT of my country on this place. the same thing happened last year: after they managed to get there, they played badly even if they had won a few weeks early some matches against the same teams.

yes, Canada is for us I think exceptable opponent, so first round could be OK, but Portugal and Puerto Rico..hmmm, better Portugal because we know their game and played against them a lot of matches but I dont know, how to play against Puerto Rico and their quick game system :) so only God knows :)

as you say they can reach by first they have to take care of canada twice and them Portugal or Puerto Rico. At least they have chance to qualify poor Spain all good until know well maybe the next year guys XD

Strange...

Maybe Spaniards had some problems with their application and FIVB will give them a second chance if they won EL.

You know everything is possible in volleyball;P

But to be honest Slovakia seems to be better.

It's on canada's volleyball site(http://www.volley...ivb-world-league-men’s-volleyball-qualifying-matches-july-29-3), and all over Slovenian Medias, which are very reliable ;)

jernej: can you provide any source?

I just can't believe that Spaniards dont want to play in WL.For sure their federation is richer than Slovakian one.

Berny: Slovakia is already sure to play WL qualifications where they will face Canada in the 1st round, because Spain didn't apply for the WL qualifications, congrats! :)

Slovenia or slovakia will play qualifications yes, but trust me either of theese teams will have a tough job coming thru the qualifications, I really have a lot of faith in our boys, but I still don't think they will be able to make it into the WL, because at this moment ALL of the teams in the WL are better than them, it's reality ;)

WTF? So Slovenia is just gonna go through? Why didn't they ask the Netherlands...

Lukasso21: They can't apply anymore, the deadline was yesterday I think.

Urnaut was best player in Poule of Slovenia!! What power attack and serves!

maybe they dont applied yet but if they won it so they will apply
0 22:35 14/07/2011

I have no idea why they didn't they probably have no ambitions to play in WL i guess...

Spain havent applied?why?

i think if they won it they will play in WL Q round.

Ok, Urnaut, Kamnik, Vinčič will definetly be fit to play, whilst Veselin Vukovič will not count on Komel and Škorc.

By the way, Romania and Spain haven't applied for the World League qualifications, so only Slovenia and Slovakia have the chance to gain their spot in next years World League. The better of theese teams will face Canada in the 1st round of the qualifications, and the winner will then play the 2 worst teams in this years World League and the best African team.

Alen Pajenk! Great player :))

qsek: Honestly, with so much injuries, I have no idea! x)
Ussualy it was Vinčič(setter), Gasparini(opposite), Komel & Urnaut - receivers, Kamnik & Pajenk - Middle blockers
But then Komel got injured so Čebulj played instead of him, and now Urnaut is injured as well, and instead of him Jakopin played in the last match, Kamnik has a sprained ankle as well, but I think he'll be able to play, and Vinčič has back problems but he'll play too. And about the libero position, I'm not sure Škorc will play as he's in a hospital with a virus, and the doctors can't even find out what kind of virus... So probably Plot will play.

jernej, how looks Slovenia first squad?

Full Steel arena in Kosice was about month ago in handball, so maybe in final match will be full hall :) lets see. In the last round Slovakia x Turkey was probably 1200 people and this match was soooo boring :) but ticket to world league qualification will be better event.

lukasso21, be careful...don't mess with the supporters of Slovenia, Romania, Spain and Slovakia cause they are vindictive, seeking for revenge and they'll come for you mhahaha :))
don't worry about the CEV, they always know how to do their job perfectly. as about the competition...you never know if one of these teams won't be maybe in five or ten years time a new superpower.

It's better to have many seats, than to have not enough :)
0 04:29 13/07/2011
lukasso21
Oh mommy! this arena (8,300 seats for ice hockey and probably 9000+ for volleyball) is way too big for European League.

Does CEV love empty seats?
