Bulgaria - Serbia (short cut, 2nd match)
Sofia, June 8, 2014: Serbia beat Bulgaria for the second time this weekend on Sunday, but unlike Saturday’s straight sets victory were made to work far harder for their 3:2 win (25:18, 25:21, 20:25, 22:25, 15:11). Over 9,000 people in the Arena Armeec, Sofia, saw a far better home performance, but for the first two sets it looked like a repeat of Saturday’s humiliation. Sokolov was the game’s top scorer with 24 points (43% in attack). Atanasijević scored 20 points (41% in attack). On the press conference, captain of Bulgarian NT, Todor Aleksiev said: "Congratulation to Serbia for the beautiful match played, it was a real spectacle. At the beginning we couldn’t find our game but in the second set we woke up and started playing better. At the fifth set we lost our chance to close the game and let Serbia win the match. For us, things are getting better with every day which is optimistic and encouraging. We will try to take the maximum from our following matches. I would like to thank Camillo personally, because he helped us a lot and extracted the best from us for today’s match".
