Bulgaria lost one set to Czech Republic in the first match of the EuroVolley 2013. Tsvetan Sokolov was the game's top scorer with 19 points. Bulgarian spiker scored 67 points in three matches in that group. Czech Republic had a minimal advantage untill the first technical time out and then Bulgaria just ran past them. Difference just grew bigger and higher and at the end was at ten points in favor of Bulgaria 25:15. Difference in second set was smaller at the end but Czechs never really had a chance to come near to Bulgarian team. Bratoev and Sokolov found their connection early on and because of that it was rather easy for Kamilo Placi's team to dominate. Bulgaria won 25:18 in that set. The Czech Republic came back on court for the third set highly concentrated and this was reflected in the score 7:0. They maintained this impressive advantage. The Czechs remained in control, letting the opponents catch up only for a moment 19:18 for the Czech Republic and then picked up the set 25:22 to stay in the match, setting the overall score at 1:2. The fourth set started with a 180-degree turn - Bulgaria was leading 6:0. They maintained it throughout the set and were determined to end the game as quickly as possible. Bulgaria took the last set 25:21 and the full match 3:1.
